KL Photo Fest

Popped down to Berjaya Times Square for the KL photo festival today. Everywhere's just filled with peeps carrying their huge guns, compared to theirs, ours is kept shyly in our camera bag. Don't want it to feel inferior when it sees all the big daddies out there.

Cow kept persuading me to visit the booth for lens and flashguns,.... not that I need any, even if I do, the only one that I might be slightly interested in would be the 18-50mm, but no real rush for it. And plus I'm a total amatuer photographer,.... well I'm too scared to even use the term "photographer" on myself, not fit to become one yet. All I'm doing is whacking and capturing images of what I deem nice to the eyes. Exposures, apertures, shutters, I've no clue how I use them, but I just did.... in a trial and error manner. To me if I go too deeply into the theories it might just make me lost sight of why I fell in love with the hobby in the first place.

Oh back at the photo festival, the booth for lightboxes did caught my interest, in fact I'm planning on a version 2 of my homemade lightbox. The lightbox I have made back in Lala Land still depends heavily on surrounding light source since I'm only using a camping light instead of proper flash. Hope to pop by the shops to get the materials for it in the next few days, I've planned the budget for the project to be less than RM50 considering I've gotta source out a cheap table lamp. Using a camping torch is far too tiring from past experience, I've to hold the torch in one hand and the bulky D200 in the other,.... one word,.... SHACK ah!!!!!!!

For the time being my backgrounds for close up shots are the either the sofa for blacks or the top of my washing machine for whites LOL and downside, I can only do the shots during the day using natural lighting. Have to make do with whatever I've got.
