Blue blue Monday, feeling a lil sad counting down the last four days here. Finally got round to edit the photos from the Interlaken Red Bull Air Race.

Snow in Summer

It has been a long weekend, hopped onto a train to Lucerne to transit to Interlaken to only be told that the line is closed and we had to head off to Bern in order to get to our destination. *pant* Arrived at the camp site just as the clock stroked midnight.
Headed off to Thun the next day, and returned when the weather got bad. Day after, packed and moved to Grindelwald, a small quiet town and mountains surrounding it, really lovely area, highly recommended.

This trip was very rewarding despite the rain, we went up to Jungfraujoch (pronounced as yong-frau-york) the highest mountain in Europe. Snow in the summer, something different.
A backlog of photos awaits me, meanwhile, this will do.

Interlaken (Part II)

Went downtown to Zurichsee yesterday to one of the flea markets, since the one on Sunday near the pier was brilliant, holding high hopes for the one of Thursday near the river. Utterly disappointed, it just seemed that we've travelled back to Lala Land. There's only a handful of shops set up in the back alley, which we spend an hour looking.
On the other note, finally killed some lazy bugs and managed to edit more pictures. Moo's having a long weekend, initial plan was to head down to Geneva, and so I called up the Research Center which we were dying to visit to confirm certain facts.

Reception : Good afternoon, this is the XXX research center, how may I help you?

Me : Good afternoon, I'm calling in regards to enquiry on booking for a free tour. According to one of the travel guides I've obtained, it mentioned that I've to book a month in advance, is that true?

Receptionist: *trying hard not to laugh* No that's not true.

Me : *Relieved*

Receptionist: You have to book eight to nine months in advance.

Me : *Missing a heart beat* (o_O")

Receptionist: Unfortunately we are fully booked till June 2008.

Me : *Gulp* ok, thank you so much.

There goes our plan to Gevena, after much debate last night, decided to head back to Interlaken for the weekend since we din't manage to go to most of the tourist attractions the last time round.

Interlaken (Part I)

I've felt even more in love with this country after our trip down to Interlaken for the Red Bull Air Race. The beauty of it just isn't justified on any postcards or travel guides.
We've fully packed our 3GB memory cards with shots, this should keep me busy for a while editing and selecting pictures, but meanwhile, this is all I can upload for the first batch.
A brief background of Interlaken, part of the Bernese Oberland, a busy hub for adventure sports. A short walk around town (situated between Interlaken OST and West station) we found vendors for para-surfing, kayaking and tamden para sailing. From Interlaken OST, there's also hourly trains to the Jungfrau Region.

TGIF

Off to Interlaken later after breakfast for the upcoming Red Bull Air Race, being the first time that the race is held in this country, there's definitely gotta be loads of spectators attending. We've decided that its wiser to head there a day before just in case that the camp site is fully taken. Fingers crossed that the weather would be better than the past few days.

Today's picture of the day was taken from a graffiti I saw in town, on the wall of a back alley. Whoever the artist is, thumbs up, ya doing a great job. Hope you dun mind coz I've just used it as my msn avatar.

Sweet tooth no longer sweet

Just been to the dentist this afternoon, rather than a dental clinic, I felt like I'm arrived in a budget hair salon. For once, I wasn't panicking. I was approached by a rather friendly nurse, whom I ended up with a minor disagreement with. I've explained to her that my filling came loss, but she's determined that it's part of my tooth which chipped off. She seemed to be so sure that I'm starting to think I've made a mistake. She took an x-ray and passed it to the dentist who fortunately speaks more English than her. The filling which I had years back looked so real, that the young lady thought was part of my tooth it seems lol. A temp cement filling was suggested, and I was assured that it would not cause any pain. Oh hell she was right,... I din't feel a thing, only 120 Fr lighter. I expressed my gratitude and buggered off.
And this is what I found near the clinic,... sweet tooth is longer sweet for now.

To release the stress which was built up from the past two days over my dental appointment, headed outta the basement for a fag, and saw this in a window display from an 'Asian' restaurant, Thai, Indian, Chinese and Japanese food all in one.

If ya not familiar with the items on display, basically they are using incense paper for worshipping the dead according to Chinese customs. And is that joss sticks I see? How weird is this?

As I'm writing this entry, Silent night just came on on the hotel radio,.... Its fucking July,..... the weird seemed to have got even weirder.
