Latest to my collection, second favourite character from Death Note is,.... L.

Out running errands today and curiously popped into an anime store. Saw the Deathnote DVD set giving away a replica death note and a quill pen. How can I resist? (Despite already having all the episodes on my HDD).
Apart from the DVD, another somehow impulse buy, L. He's just too cute not to bring home.

Now my lil Ryuk has a friend.

Uneventful Week

The week that passed was simply stale, apart from ISP leaving me with a dead connection for more than 24 hours,... the customer care was friendly, but that doesn't take away the fact that I know more than them,....

Since I was left outta cyberworld for a whole day, picked up my needles and started sewing again. Made two new pouches, one for my fags and another for my keitai which I got months ago but never got the chance to write about. The latter (laugh hesterically), I've always wanted a 903,... *drool* (even when 903 was such an old phone, it has became such a classic that the price still remained high). Nevermind that, I've got a replacement now *still laughing*. I know I know, its from last season, 8MP is enough for me, the new 10MP would be too much to handle. Not sure why but I just love white clamshells with rotating screen...

More updates on my four-legged furby. We've put her on a barf diet (raw meat) but worried that her stool is way too hard, she's now on barf every alternate day. She's not taking the veggie and supplement mix (credit to Yen, our homeboarder) very well, but hunger speaks louder, so she has no choice but to chow them down.

Oh and recently she's brushing her teeth as well, *ahem* abit of an obsession actually. She takes her toothbrush wherever she goes. *The brush actually belongs to Bubble, but its way too big for his tiny jaws and he left it in a corner to collect dust*

One way of recycling empty cans

The little cupboard in the kitchen is piling up with empty tins from my addiction of condensed milk, waiting for an idea to strike to breathe life into them again. Light bulb started blinking mad the moment I saw some nice printable designs.

Just as everyone in the neighbourhood snoozed their way into slumberland, I slaved away making measurements, photoshopping the dimensions required and off my printer went.

A bit of cutting here and sticking there, I've got myself a brand new set of stationary holder.
Wow.... fifteen minutes was all it took and I'm feeling contented, boy do I love recycling.

Happy 牛(niu) Year

With Cow working night shift, my poor bio clock is suffering yet again. Just as I'm recovering from my poor sleeping pattern, nowadays would be reversed to nights and nights to days.
Found this really simple paper toy, my motor skills don't function very well at this time of the day, even cutting the pieces out is a challenge. Despite the toy wasn't not meant for Chinese New Year, its closed enough I guess. Well, its got a cow and its year of the Ox in a couple of days.
So to all friends and well, Pea, who's so bored and kind to visit my blog, Happy Niu Year in advance. May it be a great year ahead for all of you.

Paper Toys

my new found love.

Just can't get enough of it at the moment. For the past three days, I'm only managed to complete three toys. As I get busy with my new hobby, printed a set of paper toy for Cow as well.
When I rang him up at work telling him I found the template for Master Chief from Halo, he enthusiastically urged me to get it for him.

*Twilight with flashback to two days ago* We sat down at the dining table with scissors, penknives, gluestick and our paper toy templates. After cutting out a tiny yet complication piece from his set, he announced that he's calling it a day .... leaving me alone to complete my lil Rommy robot. Till now his set sits on the table, quietly counting down the days till its remembered again.

Lightbox 1.5

My new home-made lightbox is finally completed, with the carton (courtesy of Lee), some tape, tracing paper, kitchen foil, a glue stick, paint, penknife and two days of labour. The next thing to do is to search for a cheap table lamp. This new box comes with a removable reflector panel made from kitchen foil lol.

Did a few test shots, had to touch up with photoshop.

Deathnote Ryuk

Pretty late in catching the bug, Deathnote has been out for years and its only now that I've got hooked. The plot's full of twist, which kept me glued to the tv till it reached the last few episode.

No, I'm not talking about Deathnote the movie but the anime. You know how its like when the anime is made into a movie and it sucks? Yah, that's exactly why I've no intention to watch the movie itself. Although I've to say that the actor playing "L" looks exactly likewise to the actual character in the anime, alike almost to the point identical (well at least judging from the DVD cover).

Even though he's just playing a minor role in the story, but my all time favourite character has gotta be Ryuk the Death God. A gothic grim reaper who display redrawal symptoms when he doesn't feast enough on apples, went to earth coz he got bored of the underworld and enjoying the different plots "Light" planned to killed. I guess its the sattle evilness in him that I fell in love with but I find him totally adorable and surprise surprise we've added a Ryuk SD figurine to our collection.
Saw another figurine a few shops down the mall which made me drool, but the shear size and price tag made me walked away, even after 50% off it still costed RM300 .... nah I'll give it a miss.

Nope, I'm not done watching the whole series yet. The story got slight draggy after "L" died, and I've lost the motivation to finish watching it. Will leave the ending till some other day when I'm totally bored to hell.

Just another random rant

Today's vet trip left me even more impressed about Yumi.

The vet was rather surprised when I mentioned that we literally grabbed her outta one of the village. With just one month's stay with us, she's completely free from ticks and fleas and she's in the pink of health.
Vet then proceed to measure her temperature through her *ahem* back entrance.
The previous patient she had before Yumi was extremely fearful and aggressive, bearing that in mind she was rather cautious with her every move.

To her surprise, Yumi took no notice of the "intrusion", waggling her antenna like mad and licking her hand.
Right, since everything went so well, let's push it a lil further, time for the needle.
Despite my constant reassurance to her that Yumi's tolerance to pain is unbelievable, she was still slightly weary. Fine, I held onto Yumi's muzzle then.

Nope, absolutely no reaction from the thick-skinned canine. At that point I suspected her ancestor's line centuries ago might either be linked to an elephant or if not a rhino. She took it as though she just got bitten by a tiny lil mosquito.
In fact Yumi was rather excited during the vet trip, just another day out for this lil girl. Down side, I can't shower her for the next week,...... she's gotta stink like hell!!!!!!!!!!!

While walking Yumi later on, Moo and I noticed a storm brewing afar. Before we knew it, the two idiots set up the camera and tripod,.... spent a good half an hour feeding mozzies.

Project Dog Bed

A queen size bed is simply too small to tolerate a cow, midget and a growing canine ... something has gotta be sorted out.

Found a pretty cheap solution, the project only costed us RM6.50.




Material:
- Free blanket from Emirates (grin)
- Two used pillows that were too flat for our likings
- Bought additional pillow from Tesco to extend the dog bed in case Yumi grow anymore... (RM 6.50)
- Zipper from the carrier that came with our existing pillows
- My tiny lil portable sewing machine

End results were better than I've thought, so far so good, Yumi spent the past two nights on her very own bed (after a few attempts of shooing her off ours). Satisfied canine, happy humans, can't ask for more.

Remotely Gaga

Just as though unwrapping a present on boxing day, that gugu gaga feeling when given a new toy, well that how I felt yesterday. Finally lied hands on my new remote control. *Woot* finally,.... I mean FINALLY I can see myself in photo!!!!! Why finally? Coz the cow refuses to touch the camera, and with Pea's wobbly arms, photos of me always end up in the bin. With this remote, I'd no longer be left out from the pin hole !!!! The magic a lil button can do..... miracle.....

Cheese Z & Evil Crackling

I've finally got used to my portable sewing machine.

Ashes

Recycle, recycle, recycle. After a yummy mayo tuna and pickle sandwich, what can I do with the can? It looks to chrome and pretty to end up in the bin. Some cardboard, tape, and a candle later I've got a new ashtray. The letterings doesn't look as great coz it was cut out from magazines,.... I lost the driver for my HP printer and can't seem to find a working copy online, anyone has a copy?
The end product din't turn out as great,.... I was too afraid of burning my fingers.

Green Fingers

Been feeling slightly under the weather for the past few days, it feels as if I've just swallowed a cat and its slowly clawing up my throat.... not the best description I know. And my back, well it feels as though I'm giving Heffalump a piggyback ride.
Popped an aspirin an hour back, hopefully with some rest, the cat and elephant would decide to give me a break.

Almost forgetting about the green fingers bit, yup our fingers are turning green indeed. The seeds we sowed couple of days back has sprouted. It brings me joy that at least there's some sorta living things in the apartment (apart from me) when Moo's at work. Sunflowers, poppies, chilli, coriander and lavender. Poppies seemed to be the only one making me proud. Every now and then, I'd take a look at them and appreciate life as such a miracle.

Stealing All the Pleasure

As usual, Moo's stealing all the pleasure again.
The pleasure of putting all the pieces together, assembling the capsule toys.

Recently we were gaga over Lucky Star, an anime of randomness.
As Moo put it, I resembles Tagami, the bookworm and the logical big sister.
While he and Sleepy would be no other but Konata, the manga and anime addict who adores gaming till wee hours.

Truly mine

Bought a cheap arpon from Daiso, one of those you see in animes. But to make it truly Japanese kawaiiness, something had to be done. And there, my personalised one of a kind arpon, with nothing but pure cuteness. And to celebrate that, chicken springrolls and Japanese coroquette.
